River Monitoring

Once a month from May through October Pewaukee River Partnership members monitor ten sites along the Pewaukee River and its watershed. Monitors are trained to test for biotic index, dissolved oxygen, flow, habitat, temperature, and turbidity. Results are then entered into the statewide DNR online database for streams and rivers. Waukesha County Department of Parks and Land Use supplies equipment and manages training programs for Level 1 and Level 2 monitoring. For more information check out their website Water Action Volunteers.

The Pewaukee River Partnership is always looking for new volunteers to participate in monitoring. Come to the next monthly meeting or fill out the Contact Form on the left side of this page for more information.
