May Minutes 2015

Pewaukee River Partnership –Draft minutes May 28, 2015

1. Minutes and Correspondence – The minutes of the March 26, 2015 meeting were approved as written. Charlie reported that the letter sent to the Women’s Club resulted in a $1000 for the restoration project at Riverside Park. There are several fence posts left over from the project so Tom will check with Park and Rec to see if they can be installed on parking lot corners. Charlie will send a thank you letter.

2. Treasurer’s Report – Nancy reported that the Plant sale net proceeds were $3114.21. Charlie added that an invoice needs to be sent to Park and Rec for $300 for plants used on the restoration project.

3, Monitor Update – Tom reminded people that there is a meter available to do sampling at the District. It needs to be calibrated when used but holds its calibration for 24 hours so several groups can use it on the same day if schedules can be coordinated.

4. Old Business –
            A. Plant sale – All agreed it was a great sale. Proceeds indicated that it was the best ever.

5. New Business –

A.    Discussion of Donations - After a short discussion a motion was made and carried to donate $1000 to the Water Resource Fund at the Sanitary District. This fund supports student education and restoration projects.

B.     Bridge Project – Charlie reported that he will attend a Village Public Works Committee meeting on June 6th since the river hydraulic study is on the agenda. This study is related to a pedestrian bridge the Village would like to construct at Riverside Park to allow access to Main Street and the beach. Charlie will make them aware of our interest in the construction of a covered bridge on the existing railroad abutments.

C.     Clean Water Festival, June 27th – The Partnership will again have a table at the festival to educate people about our mission and projects. Volunteers are needed from 9 AM till 2 PM. Contact Charlie if you can help.
